Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Here's a great way to kick your chocolate chip cookies up a notch - make them peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! No more introduction necessary.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar,
sugar, egg and vanilla and beat until creamy. Stir together the flour, baking soda and salt, add gradually to the peanut butter mixture and mix until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop dough by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto baking sheets.
Bake 10-15 minutes until cookies are golden but still soft to the touch. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
These cookies will disappear fast!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup chocolate chips
Beat together the peanut butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla until creamy. Gradually beat in the flour, baking soda and salt just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets and bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes until golden but still soft. Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes then remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes 3 dozen.
