Sloppy Joes

If you've never heard Adam Sandler's Lunch Lady song, go here right now and listen to it. Listen well. You'll want to sing along with me as we cook.

Sloppy Joes, Slop, Sloppy Joes

Okay, enough singing. On to cooking.

This is an easy recipe and SO much better than anything in a can off the shelf. And really, not any more difficult than opening the can and pouring it in.

First, brown the beef and onion, then drain the fat. Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Today's tip: If you find yourself without tomato sauce (like I was) you can substitute tomato paste! Simply combine 2 cups of water with a 6 oz can of tomato paste, yielding 2 cups of tomato sauce! Voila!

Reduce the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Here is a skillet of delicious simmering sloppy joes...

You can eat these open face or the traditional "sloppy" way. Either way, they are amazingly delicious.
